Heat Wave Possibility is Becoming More Likely

Before the heat wave, we will have several days of tranquil weather with temperatures in the lower 80's and less humid conditions.  But by Friday, temperatures will be at least to the lower to middle 90's, and since we have been much drier than what was originally forecasted, I believe that temperatures could end up in the upper 90's if everything works out right.  On Saturday, temperatures will be a bit cooler, but more humid, then on Friday, because of thunderstorms brought in by a weak cold front that is slicing southward out of Canada.  This should allow for cooler and drier air to move in for the Fourth of July, even though it will still be in the mid-80's according to the National Weather Service: NWS forecast for Antwerp, OH .  According to Chad Evan's blog from the WLFI TV station in Lafayette, IN, if it weren't for the wet soil, we would have temperatures close to 110 degrees.  He's forecasting temperatures in the middle 90's for his area.  For Northwest Ohio, our soils are a bit drier because we haven't as much rainfall as Lafayette had, so I expect temperatures to approach one hundred if everything goes the way it is supposed to.
